Extensions for Development Orders, Master Concept Plans, and Concurrency Certificates

At its regular meeting on Oct. 11, 2011, Lee County Commissioners adopted a resolution which will allow for four-year extensions of Development Orders, Zoning Master Concept Plans, & Concurrency Certificates issued between Jan. 2, 2006 and June 30, 2012.

Impact Fee Updates

On Tuesday, April 10, 2012, Lee County Commissioners adopted a new Impact Fee schedule that lowered School, Parks, Fire and Emergency Medical Service fees. For additional information or to view the reports, click here.

Lee Plan updates now available

The Lee Plan codification as amended through March 2012 is now available online. This codification is the result of several amendments (noted below along with their effective date).

• DR/GR Second Partial Final Order, effective 10/2011
• 2010/2011 Regular Amendment Cycle, effective 11/2011
• Pine Tarr, LLC (CPA2010-00006), effective 01/2012
• DR/GR Final Order, effective 03/2012

Sea Turtle nesting season May 1 - Oct. 31

Sea turtles are nesting on Lee County beaches. Two months later, the tiny hatchlings will emerge from the sand. Both adult sea turtles and their hatchlings use the seaward horizon as their guiding light and may be lured away from the water by artificial light visible from the beach. Click here to learn more.

Proposed Parking Requirements

Lee County is proposing a comprehensive review of commercial parking requirements. In general, the update results in fewer required paved parking spaces for new development. The new codes will also be streamlined and more reader friendly. Click here to learn more.
